What level of German do I need?
Edelvox works best for late-beginner through advanced learners, roughly A2 and up, though motivated A1 learners with a few sentences under their belt will still get value. If you're still working at the individual-word or short-phrase stage, you'll get more from a beginner-focused app first.
Do I need to use the microphone?
No. You can type your entries and shadow by repeating out loud on your own. Dictation is optional but encouraged.
How private is my data?
Your writing isn't stored in a database. Corrections, conversation, and transcription of anything you dictate are processed by OpenAI. The audio you hear is generated by ElevenLabs. We collect anonymous usage analytics only, which you can turn off in Settings. See the full Privacy Policy.
